The service provider marketplace consists of many different silos of expertise that are useful, but often overlap or create conflicts when not coordinated in an overall strategy. With rapidly changing business requirements, compliance needs, security and legal concerns, it was challenging to keep up and be confident that we were doing everything we could to protect our business and personal interests. The possibility that one employee, a bad actor or an outside partner could destroy years of our work and financial security was a constant fear.

Understanding a company’s areas of exposure requires experience and the ability to see the business holistically. Through the years of building and managing our own companies, we sat through countless pitches from service providers who were too busy selling features to look at the big picture and help us form a cohesive strategy. While finding the best individual service partners was important, making sure they were working off a common overall plan was critical. It was also difficult to know who we could really trust, not only in the short run, but over the long haul. When we created KeenView, we wanted to share with other business owners and executives the lessons we had learned and the partners we had vetted.
