Grip Boost

See how Grip Boost grew organic traffic 10% to 20% month over month, and positioned the brand for AI-driven discovery across Google and ChatGPT.

3 Core ChallengesGrip Boost Faced

Grip Boost is a specialty athletic grip products company based in South Florida. Co-founded by Matt Furstenburg, a former University of Maryland tight end and Baltimore Ravens player, alongside a team of chemical engineering PhDs and serial entrepreneur Harry Geller. The company designs and sells football gloves, batting gloves, grip gel, and related athletic products direct to consumers through its ecommerce site as well as major retail partnerships. The brand is trusted by professional athletes and has been featured across major sports media. After 13 years in business and countless failed agency relationships, Matt needed a partner that could actually move the needle on organic traffic and help the business stay ahead of the shift toward AI-driven buyer discovery.

1st Core Challenge:
Multiple agency relationships over the years produced big promises but no measurable impact on traffic or sales.
1st Strategic Shift:
KeenView’s team rapidly increased organic traffic and keyword ranking in the top positions on Google and ChatGPT.
2nd Core Challenge:
The business depended on being found in search for competitive terms like football gloves, and visibility on the first page of results was the difference between getting traffic and not existing.
2nd Strategic Shift:
High-value keywords with tens of thousands of monthly searches moved to page one, driving consistent new buyer traffic to the site.
3rd Core Challenge:
AI was beginning to change how athletes and parents shop for sports equipment, and the team needed to stay ahead of competitors in a fast-moving landscape.
3rd Strategic Shift:
Grip Boost is now showing up in AI search results including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, building visibility in a channel that continues to grow as buyer behavior shifts.
The Problem
Grip Boost had built a strong brand over 13 years, with professional athlete endorsements, major media coverage, and a loyal customer base. They successfully secured major national retail partnerships, but struggled to expand their ecommerce business against giant multinational brands online. Matt had tried to solve this with outside help more times than he could count. The pattern was always the same: an agency would come in with a big pitch, talk about everything they were going to do, and months later, nothing had changed. No traffic improvement. No sales impact. Just invoices and meetings that didn’t lead anywhere. In a competitive DTC category like athletic gloves, where buyers are searching on Google, shopping on Amazon, and increasingly asking AI for recommendations, that kind of lost time adds up. Matt needed organic traffic growing consistently, and he needed his brand showing up where buyers were actually looking.
The Solution
After several conversations with the KeenView executive team, Matt decided to move forward despite his skepticism from years of failed agency relationships. The results came faster than expected. Organic keyword rankings started growing 10% to 20% month over month, and the gains compounded. Key product searches that drive 30,000 to 40,000 monthly searches moved to the first page. The brand started showing up in ChatGPT results for relevant sports equipment queries. And every month, new keywords the team hadn’t even targeted began ranking higher and higher on their own. Matt’s focus went back to running the business and developing new products, with confidence that he had a competent partner working alongside him and keeping him ahead of the constantly evolving consumer search behavior.

KeenView has greatly increased our revenue and visitors to our site. I’ve worked with a number of vendors prior that did not deliver to expectations or produce significant ROI. KeenView, however, has delivered exactly as they said they would and more. Our revenue is up over 33% in the last 30 days versus last year and continues to grow. They have also been an excellent partner when it comes to recommendations. They are committed to structured on-going meetings and provide a lot of value in those meetings. I’ve come into a number of our meetings with questions and instead of trying to find ways to monetize their recommendations, they often will make great suggestions that our team can implement internally which has been a huge value add as well. Overall, I would highly recommend them if you’re looking for a company that has integrity and does what they say they are going to do.
